I first meet Gyalmu in 1992 when she was about 12 years old. With two of her friends she held me up at knife point to try and get some chocolate from me. I had no chocolate but took a photograph of them. The photo was an ever present part of my life and after the earthquake and landslide of 2015 I sent a copy to Austin Lord to be included for a Langtang memorial website. I soon learned that both Neema Gyalmu and Tshering Dolam had survived. In October of 2017 I returned to the valley with copies of the photo for each of them and of course some chocolate.
